Blake Creek Road House Fire

JUNE 24 - On Friday, 19 June at 1352, Second District volunteers, Company 1 and Company 3 were dispatched for a house on fire on Blake Creek Road. Eng 61 arrived on the scene and reported a two story single family dwelling with smoke showing. Ambulance 68 and 69 arrived and setup the triage in a shaded area upwind of the fire.

2009 Protocol rollout training

JUNE 23 - 26 members of your Second District volunteers attended a mandatory EMS 2009 Protocol Rollout training at the Joseph Sacco School of Fire Fighting in Valley Lee last Wednesday evening.
The Maryland Institute for Emergency Medical Services System (MIEMSS) presented a video briefing of the patient care changes to the Maryland Protocol for both EMT-Bs and Paramedics.

Working Car Fire on 249

JUNE 12 - At approximately 12:23, on June 12th, Company 6 was dispatched for a car fire. Within minutes Engine 62 responded with Chief 6 (RedTop) and 4, and Engine 63 responded with the B Chief (Jason Bean) and 3. Upon arrival Chief 6 advised fireboard that its was a working car fire. MAY 28 - Being prepared to handle medical emergencies, from general sick calls and citizen assists to trouble breathing and multiple motor vehicle casualties, takes a lot of training and personal sacrifice on the part of our volunteer emergency services team. Our high level of readiness is due in part to having the latest equipment and supplies to serve our community.

Water Rescue training

MAY 28 - Wednesday, 20 May your Valley Lee volunteers conducted a unique training event at the Sacco Fire School pool.
The annual Water Rescue training is a two-part training event that is designed to teach our members the proper techniques of water rescue using backboards and stokes baskets and how to remain afloat in their turnout gear should they fall overboard.... (Full Story & Photos)
