He was instrumental in the formation of the first volunteer fire department on McKay's Beach, now known as the Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Family will receive friends for Jack's Life Celebration on Monday, June 21, 2010 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at St. George's Episcopal Church, 19167 Poplar Hill Lane, Valley Lee, Md 20692. A memorial service to honor his life will begin at 7:00 pm followed by Firemen's Prayers.
