On Saturday, May 5, 2018, the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association held its Annual Convention Awards Dinner at the Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad and Fire Department.
The SMVFA consists of the 40 independent volunteer fire, rescue, and emergency medical services organizations from Calvert, Charles, and St. Mary’s counties.
At this year’s festivities, Cathy Caulder, one of our long standing and dedicated members, was inducted into the Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen’s Association Hall of Fame.
Each year, 10 nominees are selected for this prestigious award by the SMVFA Hall of Fame Committee from a master list of candidates submitted by their respective organizations.
Nominees are rated on length of service, dedication, accomplishments, and other special achievements within the nominee’s home department as well as the SMVFA, and other local agencies and organizations.
The Second District Volunteer Fire Department & Rescue Squad is extremely grateful and proud of Mrs. Calder’s dedication and accomplishments throughout her many years of unconditional service to the department and the citizens of St. Mary’s County.
Congratulations Cathy on a most deserved recognition!
