MVA on Rt.249 near Abells Tavern

On March 2nd at approximately 17:48 Company 6 FIRE/EMS was dispatched for an MVA on Rt. 249 in front of Abells Tavern. Within a minute, Chief 6 marked up en-route to the scene, along with Engine 62, Lieutenant Windsor and 6, and both AMB. 68 and AMB. 69. Engine 61 then responded with Chief 6A and 6. Chief 6 arrived on scene and advised that he had two vehicles involved with one patient trapped and the second patient was out of the vehicle that was off the roadway. Engine 62 arrived on scene and stabilized the first vehicle and protected the patient while the crew popped the driver's side door, and then assisted EMS with patient removal. A68 and A69 crews provided patient care. On arrival Engine 61's crew, assisted E-62's crew and secured both vehicles batteries. Ambulance 68 and 69 each transported a priority 2 patient to St. Mary's Hospital. All Company 6 units were back in service at 18:21.
