Members of the SDVFD&RS took the opportunity to hone their firefighting skills on Sunday, May 2, 2021 by attending an acquired structure live firefighting training scenario hosted by the Bay District VFD. Firefighters were able to practice the proper use of protective gear and equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus, fire behavior, search and rescue procedures, hose line evolutions, ventilation, and other skills while experiencing actual fire conditions. In addition to the Bay District VFD, the Ridge VFD and Naval District Washington Fire and Emergency Services Department personnel as well. Great live fire training with much knowledge gained by all participants.
