| For Immediate Release: New Rescue Unit Moves to Production Phase The Second District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad's Apparatus Replacement Committee recently concluded a successful engineering review for the new 2026 heavy-duty rescue truck at the Pierce Manufacturing facility in Appleton, Wisconsin. The vehicle, which was commissioned in October 2023, is now officially moving into the engineering and production phase. During the comprehensive review, the committee meticulously inspected every component and system specified in the original contract. Leveraging advancements in technology since the initial order, several key modifications were implemented to enhance the vehicle's operational functionality and effectiveness in the field. With the engineering plans finalized and approved, the unit has been released for production. The department anticipates the arrival of this state-of-the-art rescue vehicle in late summer 2026. We will be providing updates as the vehicle progresses through the manufacturing process. |
