The SDVFD&RS held its' 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting on Friday, December 1, 2023.
Although the weather threatened to put a damper on the festivities, a very nice crowd managed to get out to the station for the event. Second District VFD&RS Hosts Special Guest & Participates in Veteran's Day Parade

SDVFDRS Volunteers hosted a very special guest the last few days! We were lucky to have THE Optimus Prime in our station while he was in the County for the Veteran's Day events in Leonardtown. E-61, Squad 6, MSU 6, and SMCSO escorted Optimus from Station 6 to Leonardtown where they participated in the parade through Leonardtown Square. The Second District Volunteers are proud to announce that we have entered a contract to purchase a new state-of-the-art Heavy Duty Rescue Squad. This unit will replace our aging 2003 Pierce Dash rescue engine. Squad 6 will be built by PIERCE Manufacturing in Appleton, WI.
